  • I should be asking , is the 1st locomotive a Genset?

  • Yes.

  • Nice shot. Beautiful loco. What is that, a NRE Genset loco? Thats what it looks like

  • Thanks! I think unit #31 is NRE 3GS21B.

  • Awesome locos Snuffy! Looks like they were painted in the ATSF "Zebra" stripe sheme.

    Glenn.

  • Thanks Glenn. Yea, they look really cool but if you see them at night, they look really scary! lol

  • I dont think so pal, these Gensets look very sharp - CUT GLASS! And on top of that they deliver a punch with 3x700HP prime movers and electronic traction motor control. In reality not a classic ALCo or EMD unit (That I Love) but a smarter machine.

  • @DramaQn9200 True. Thank God CN didn't buy one of those gay ass gensets

  • Sweet paint!

  • With the price of diesel fuel they have no choice but to go Hybrid. Saving fuel is no option.

  • The last SD40-2 # 62 was the shit!!!

  • the gensets suck
