This sequence was comissioned by Pioneer ProDJ to demonstrate their new DVJ-1000 DVD turntables. DJ Yoda is (in my opinion) the king of the DVJ scene and gave a great performance at the shoot after only having the decks six days earlier to practice with.
My concept for the video was to show what Yoda was actually doing on both decks to produce the final output - I achieved this by using 'minority report' style VR screens added in post-production.
I used a blacked out studio, two HDV cameras and also took outputs from the two decks and the mixer for the VR screens.
Syncing was a nightmare!
I then had just two weeks to complete the final video ready for musikmesse.
