Im not sure how to answer your question in full but I do know that when the Christian kingdoms of Spain fought to expel the muslim invasion they claimed to see visions of Saint James helping them during the battle. From which we get Santiago El matamoros, Saint James the slayer of Moors.
An old legend refers to saint James sailing to Spain and spreading Christianity there, it is unsubstantiated tho but they have Santiago de Compostello In Galicia Spain, a site of pilgrimage for millions.

Father Jeffrey,I have a question.If Saint James never traveled to Spain why do people in Spain have him as a patron saint and say he Christianized Hispania?
