Gentleman Door Pocket Door operator. This unit is air driven and we installed a simple remote controlled solenoid valve to open / close the door. It still operates as a regular door with our hardware attached.

i agree that sliding a door horizontally is space efficient. but why is it so necessary to have it motorized. honestly my bathroom has one that you easily slide that takes approximately 100 times faster than this

Bob, many people are not physically capable of opening / closing a pocket door. Also, more people purchase our pocket door operator for opening the wall to a hidden room, moving bookcases, entertainment rooms and related than to actually operate a pocket door persay. As for the speed, this particular install was made to run slow as per the customers request. Typically it runs three to four times faster than what you are seeing on this install.
