Ecuador 2010 Part 5

Part 5 sees another boat trip where we have drab water-tyrant before heading into the forest with very fleeting glimpses of black-faced antthrush, then chestnut woodpecker, white-necked thrush, possibly a male then female dusky-throated antshrike, and white-crowned manakin. We then have an amazingly cooperative southern nightingale-wren singing out in the open, followed by rufous-tailed xenops, great kiskadee, some butterlies, lunulated antbird, and the enigmatic grey-winged trumpeter. Next day was the final chance to see birds on the boat trip back to the road where we have grey-headed kite, double-toothed kite and greater yellow-headed vulture. While waiting for the bus we just have time for yellow-rumped cacique, white-banded swallow, smooth-billed ani, black-billed thrush, greyish saltator, and finally three hoatzin. We end with a team photo and the obligatory sunset.
