ah, okay - in the Tales Of I played I found Fenrir always as the guardian of Celsius' temple or a side-monster to fight with her.

You learn all sorts of things in games - especially funny if you read the stuff up afterwards.

Well, you must be referring to a character in a game. The original Fenrir or Fenris Wolf is an important character in the old Scandinavian/Northern mythology. He is one of Loki's 'monstrous' offspring by Angrboda. The great worm Ourobouros who encircles the world with his tail in his mouth is another. I always am pleased when I find old Northern myths enshrined in (Japanese) contemporary games, but the original tales are very exciting as well!

I've never read where Fenrir does that, but I do know that he is the guardian/the companion of Celsius.
