@CemetaryWolf If that were the case it would be hard to sympathize with most of the developed world, because you can't find a single modernized country that hasn't done some awful things in their past. Hell, many are doing horrible things now the US included.

I keep reading a lot of would haves and ifs. Would haves and ifs are great, but the reality is that those bombs were dropped, generations were screwed and that's being justified with would haves and ifs. The error in that is beyond my comprehension.

Were you not just saying that people justify the atomic bombing with haves and ifs...one of these ifs is that "if we did not drop the bomb, then far more people would have died in a war with Japan". That if implies war was inevitable. My post referenced Russia as an example that war can always be avoided and Atomic bombs can DEFINITELY be avoided. Apparently you didn't understand that.
