Dr. Maria de Boyrie is an Associate Professor at NMSU. She came to NMSU in 2002 and received her Ph.D. from Florida International University in 1995. At NMSU, Dr. de Boyrie primarily teaches International Financial Management and Managerial Finance, where she specializes in international finance and trade.

Dr. de Boyrie was chosen because she is a great representation of the Finance Department. She relates to many of her students because of her minority Hispanic background. Dr. de Boyrie teaches Finance 360, Financial Information Technology. Her class is unique because it is not lecture-based. Students are given their assignments and they attend class in a computer lab where she is available to answer questions.

This video was created just for you by students in the Fall 2009 College of Business Marketing 489 class: Bryan Hulbert, Frank Apodaca, Mark Castelo, Jessica Cortes, Miranda Cox, Rosario Davenport, Victoria Luallen and Joel Wright.

  • BTW FIU has a legit Football program now. Your degree is going up in value. ohhh the irony is palatable, especially if you have tenure.

  • Formula for success if like Business:

    Get a Bachelors in Marketing

    Get a Job in sales

Get MBA in Accounting and CPA

Go into Business for yourself as consultant.

That is recession proof, you determine what your worth not an employer weekly paycheck.

Plus you won't be paying half your paycheck to IRS.

  • trying to predict, manage, or speculate on stock markets, and economics is superfluous. Even you if someone were able to create a deterministic formula, chaos theory proves in such intricate dynamic models, such as the economy ,you can run the same exact input over and get a different output.... But I digress

  • You should disregard this video trying to convince you to major in Finance. Instead Accounting is the back bone of every business. About as recession proof as any job gets. Even if you make it up to Senior Management where all the Business Strategy is made you need to know where you to know where you are going
