This video is from the Vesna Festival 2006, in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. The video is of the Hopak (National Dance of Ukraine) performed by the dance group, Yevshan.

  • who recored this? What year is this, cause this is in Saskatoon, im from SAskatoon and was there. Go everyyear, Folkfest comming up.

  • I recorded it... All the vids that I have loaded up from Vesna were recorded by me. I live in Regina now though... and our version of Folkfest (Mosaic Festival) was back at the beginning of June.

  • I have all the ones that I took loaded. I think there are 4 named "Ukrainian Dancing" and I have the Kolomyjka loaded as well.

  • Great video.. I was watching my friends Dancing for Malanka. I love love love Ukrainian dancing. We do it right! Ukrainian weddings are amazing too! Good job on the video!

  • yeah, saskatchewan ukrainian dancing is awesome. i used to take it really competitively until i had this whole break down from the stress, but they were all so good. and it's way better than the ukrainuan dancing in Alberta no matter what everyone says because i live here now.

  • it's not just Saskatchewan. It's amazing everywhere if you have the right dance. Alberta Ukrainian dancing is amazing, especially from Edmonton!

  • My mom had good stories about the dukabours (I'm probably spelling it wrong). How they used to buy these beautiful enamel pots for soup... which were chamber pots XD!

    it was the dukabours who built help bulid saskatchewan as we learned in school great dancing very lively
