Winter of the Witch 1969 Clip 1

A city boy and his mother travel to a country house described to them as warm and a great bargain. It not only turned out to be rundown, creaky and dilapidated, but it also housed a surprise, a witch who is indignant at the invasion of what she considers to be her home. The intruders' presence forces the witch to adjust to the modern world and stop being a bad witch.

I remember this from 2nd or 3rd grade. We all gathered in the gymnasium, sat on the floor, the lights went out, the movie started playing, and me and my girlfriend used to get a thrill out of holding hands in the dark. The best of times. Maybe this movie is what got me hooked on blueberry pancakes. Still addicted to them today. Thanks for posting. I, too, would love to see the ending where everyone comes for pancakes. That's the most memortable for me.

The lady who played the witch was in her 70's at the time. She was born in 1897.

I remember this! And love it. I collect 16mm films, but sure don't own this one... however, one I'm looking for... you may relate... I think it's called Trogmoffy or Trogmofy. I can remember seeing it in the early '70's... about a big, fuzzy orange alien who learns to spell. Anyone remember this one?

Has anyone read the kiddie book this is based on? It has the pancake recipe, which is actually rather bulky in flour, not quite as smooth as you usually pour out. Oh, but the key ingredient is the chant in the recipe, of course. The book is called "Old Black Witch" and the witch is way more spastic in the book.
