此曲是美國作曲家勞瑞森(Morten Lauridsen,1943-) 接受2005 年美國合唱指揮協會 (The American
Choral Directors Association) 委託創作組曲《夜曲》的其中一首。 勞瑞森的音樂線條優美富有張力，運
用速度上即為強烈的快慢對比，營造星空夜晚的靜謐，表現出敘事詩中豐富深沉的情緒。


Sure on this shining night
Of starmade shadows round,
Kindness must watch for me
This side the ground.
The late year lies down the north.
All is healed, all is health.
High summer holds the earth.
Hearts all whole.
