@581u812 usual potting mix for AVs is equal parts - vermiculite, perlite and peat moss. It is a nice light mix so that the fine roots are not compacted but contains no nutrients so you need to fertilise every time you water. Keep the soil moist but not wet. If it feels cool or damp to you then it doesnt need watering. Overwatering is the biggest killer of AVs!
@Alex1Stevenson - are you fertilising it regulary? AVs need a weak fertiliser every time they are watered and good strong light to flower. They actually like to be a bit root bound too. Hope this helps seeing Steve doesnt seem to check here very often (I belong to an AV society & have been growing for many years)
I have a couple of leaf cuttings that were treated with a rooting horomone and left in water. they are sprouting leaves but arent producing much of a root system. what is my next step?

I gotta say my african violet blooms like every other month. It is not pot bound and completely healthy just wondering why that would be?
