Beso a Beso lyrics
Cada dia que te vea me voy a enamorar
Cada dia que te escuche me voy a enamorar
Siento que la luna me va a entregar
Y que bajo su luz tus labios me amaran

Me enamoro beso a beso

Me enamoro beso a beso
Como la lluvia del viento
Como el reloj del tiempo
Yo dependo de ti
Beso a Beso
Como la lluvia del viento
Como la estrella del cielo
Yo solo vivo en ti

Spanish Ballad shot on the beach in Malibu, California.

Around the year 2001 Peter and I were in Puerto Rico on longer visit than usual. We were there perhaps even around a month. We were writing a new record and feeling the island vibe and listening to the sounds in the atmosphere which carry secret melodies and an orquestra of lovely instruments If you focus and listen carefully its all there waiting to be revealed to the songwriter at heart. During my visit I thought about how many Latin soap operas had spawned so many beautiful songs during my teenage youth and how many of them were very romantic. I thought that for this record we needed to have at least one in that style, and I came up with a melody that continued to stick in my mind. With Peter's help (who is an amazing songwriter and music partner) this melody was expanded and developed into the many wings and feathers that make up a whole song, and together we composed a song that we felt strongly about and that when completed, took flight on its own. Somewhere between us working on the melody and starting to build the song from the ground up, the lyrics were still a question in my mind. That was till one day when I was watching an award show and the announcer started talking about this renowned Latin songwriter that had broken many records with a song that, by the end of the 1900s, was considered one of the most covered songs in the world. Even the Beatles had covered it. I recognized the song immediately since it is such a huge hit in Latin America and the song is called Besame Mucho.
—————————- Heres a bit more info about Besame Mucho (From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia)
Bésame Mucho is a Spanish language song written in 1940 by Mexican Consuelo Velázquez before her sixteenth birthday. The phrase bésame mucho can be translated into English as kiss me a lot. According to Velázquez, she wrote this song even though she had never been kissed yet at the time. She was inspired by the aria Quejas, o la Maja y el Ruiseñor from the Spanish 1916 opera Goyescas by Enrique Granados.
Emilio Tuero was the first to record the song. It is believed by some sources to be the most recorded song of all time. —————————————————- What really got me though, was when they announced that this accomplished songwriter was a woman!
I dont know why, but I was shocked and very pleased. So I figured our song should have the word Beso in the title too, as an inspiration on hearing about this woman's accomplishment, and as a way to start the new century with a new song having Beso (Kiss) in the title. I came up with the title Beso a Beso, which means Kiss to Kiss.
We finished writing it in Puerto Rico and made a video for the song in 2003 in the beaches of Malibu. Shot over 2 or 3 nights, Peter and I, like we would do so many times after this, would just grab a camera, pick something from our wardrobe and shoot a video. However, I can say that this was our original and the one that we considered our first official music video. Everything else before we thought of as a promo piece for a song (such as Strange).
The video for Beso a Beso was featured in MTV Español in 2003 and it is part of a compilation to benefit victims of the tsumami:
