Ticonderoga class cruiser vs Chinese Navy Sovremenny class destroyers

battle in Dangerous water between two Sovremenny class destroyers of the chinese navy and Ticonderoga class cruser of the USN.

Both sides keep on firing anti-ship missiles at each other and both sides keep on shooting them down until they run out of anti-ship missiles.One SS-N-22 hits the Ticonderoga.

Totally agree. China knew that Sovremenny is not the best ship in 21st century, but Chinese navy can learn a lot from its mature and well tested Russian technology. China is assimilating technologies from both west and east, and will gradually establish its fleet corresponding to its economic level, in short US will still take the lead, but China will catch up 10 or 20 years later.

@lp7shinoda actually it is the sovremeny weight tonnage is 7940 vs the Ticos weight of 9800..both weights are in the cruiser range..the Sovremenny is a better armed with its Moskit ss--n-22 it has 8 shots but it would probably just take one to break a Tico..the Tico is a anti air ship but can shoot down missles with ease..It would be a good fight but i believe the TICO would win although the Sov just needs one hit it so i would not count the Sovremeny out of the fight

I wish Dangerous Waters had a playable destroyer platform. Or at least someone modded it.  FFG-7 is great but I'd love something like a DDG-51 Arleigh Burke.

@DrRockso99 Sovremenny class are destroyers, not cruisers. The amount of missiles carried on-board are limited compared to the Ticonderoga. Only 8 SS-N-22 Sunburn are carried. Therefore its not a fair competition.

@misio310 Sovremenny class cruisers are dangerous ships, true, but in a war, they would be sunk by carrier based attack aircraft long before they are in range to use their ss-n-22 surface to surface anti ship missiles against a carrier battlegroup.

@bobowai Unfortunately that is probably true, simply because American civilization is rotting from within. We are destroying our own competitive spirit, and breeding generations of sheep who contribute nothing and just wait for their next federal feeding. If America were unleashed, and we rediscovered the principles that made us great, we could never be caught, but I just don't think it will happen. We will slowly decline, and in 2 or 3 decades, it will be China dictating policy to us.

Since you can't, I guess suggesting that the US navy could handle any two navies in the world isn't all that "full of shit".
