Memory Strategy: Use "Meaningful" Color
Excerpted from Memorization and Test Taking Strategies Video Training Series
ISBN: 978-1-932995-08-4
Research shows that we learn better with color than with black and white text because color makes text unique, and the brain remembers what is unique. This is another reason to have students take their notes with colored fine tip markers or gel pens.
When students can accent their notes and their writing in different colors and make key words, letters, and other critical information stand out by writing it, bolding it, or underlining it in a different color, they will remember it better.
