  • hello there

i'm looking for an amp for my upright that i could use on small electric gigs.

small gigs but still electric, meaning a drummer playing an after beat on a snare drum! I've been said this is a really good amp with no power!!!!

can you tell me about that?

    thanks

  • @wataday2day - It's a great sounding amp, but it does not like to be pushed too hard. It will hang with a drummer, but... it depends on how loud the band is.

  • I've just come out of two consecutive exams, so forgive me for being a bit dim, but when you said 'the entire package is a very managable 33 pounds', being English, I thought you were on about £s. :(

Would it be possibly to quote you on this regardless - it might just work for one of those beat-any-price deals?

Brilliant review. I very much want one. Evidently. :)

  • @BenJoelHoare - If you can convince someone that's the price, good for you!

  • hey ed i was just looking for an amp to play it on the street without any electric power, i mean with a batterie placed in, do u know if this amp can be addapted or wich amplifier can u recomend me to use it on the street, and in open places without loosing that punchy soound

  • Phil Jones does make a battery operated amp, I believe the Briefcase .

  • Looks like you spent do much money on the PJ that you couldn't afford a chair.

  • Mmmmj, beer...

  • The compressor can be set for subtle to very active operation. I suppose if you wanted to really squash your tone, you could use it to even out your bass tone. You lose a lot of volume though.

  • hey ed, i was wondering, hows the compressor on this like? one of my bass have pretty uneven sounding strings atm haha, thanks in advanced :)

  • Sounds like 'The Chicken' by Jaco
