ya the oven method is for people that don't have a heat gun but having a heat gun is better when some of the glue didn't come off.
-
yes i did one the oven method, and the second one i used the heat gun which work pretty good too
-
yep you need to put them in the oven 270 degree for about 5 minutes. Do one at the time.

How did you crack open the housings?
did you put then in the oven

Question when you did the retrofit, did you have to cut into the headlight housing, or did you just put the projector and the cut off plate and lens bracket inside the headlight. I just bought a set of e46 projectors on eBay for a crazy price, and i want to do a retrofit for my 4thgen. Let me know. Or do you have a DIY by any chance.thanks in advance.

@kapri11212 I bought a pair of clear glass headlight housings on ebay.. and once I got them opened up in the oven, I test fitted the projector to see how much I needed to cut in the back of the housing. You should have a circle cut out so that the tail of the projector will stick out.. then just fill any gaps with silicone.

Can you plz post the link to the clear glass housings? Thanks

@balu3414 Hmmm I can't seem to find them anywhere.. I got them off of ebay a few years back..just clear glass OEM's. I guess you should be able to use any of the JDM(skyline) types or any other aftermarket kit that has a clear front. Hope this helps! BTW, I may be selling my headlight as a complete set and setting mine back to stock(selling the car).

How well did they work and how long did they last? 2 GOOD QUESTIONS
Opeysan 1 year ago
@Opeysan They work amazingly, and have had no problems yet.. almost 3 years later.. never even had to replace the bulbs yet.
