@talktoyourmamma1 Alice Whealey, PhD (U. C. Berkeley) in her 2003 book "Josephus on Jesus, the Testimonium Flavianum Controversry" holds that the passage Eusebius read and what was written by Josephus actually read "was thought/believed to be the Messiah". Exactly why Origen wrote in the 2nd century that Josephus did not believe in Jesus as the Messiah. Visit the website wwwdotjosephusdotorg and read Dr. Goldberg's work on why this passage was a corruption rather than a forgery
But wait, the first sign of the TF existence comes with Eusebius, who quotes the passage with all the pro-christian language. An argument for a "neutral" or distilled/reduced version as authentic from Josephus doesn't explain why he would even do this. Josephus condemned the actions of popular agitators and rebels. They were contributors to the destruction of the Temple and the Jewish state. Why would he make an exception for jesus and call him a "wiseman" that was "virtuous"? ... It doesn't fit
Thank God I'm an atheist and don't have to understand this screwed up reasoning, twisting, milking and contortioning to try and prove the existence of a fictional character in a book.

Great work guys! I appreciate your excellent study. You responded with scholarly critique to Mr. Armstrong. Bethanie and I enjoyed the song.
