In this case I just happened to turn the camera on moments before the 5:00 PM chime struck. Communities throughout Japan typically sound a chime of some sort to mark the 5:00 PM time as a way to formally conclude the work day (though in fact most workers continue to work well past this time) and to send playing school kids home to dinner. Thanks for enjoying the sound by the railroad tracks in Shimizu, Japan. ~Kurt :-)
