INSIDE THE ADVANCED PASSENGER TRAIN APT 28_06_08.ASF 30TH ANNIVERSARY 7_12_81 - 7_12_11

This was took 3 months after i took over the running/restoration of the APT. I spent those 3 months trying to clean it up as best i could. We start off in 48106, then into the cab 370006, which i had a job on just to make it look more presentable as it was completely wrecked, then into what was once a the other 1st class coach, beleive it or not that is in a very tidy condition, when we took it over the seats where piled up and the windows painted out black ! then through the power car into the old guards van which is now a display area, then into the rest of the train. I am still working on getting the whole of the train open to public viewing, but as you can see its a big job, but its a job i love doing, so any APT enthuisasts willing to give me a hand, join the crewe heritage centre members, state that you want to help with the APT and help out !

This is the only remaining APT-P set in existence although it may be feasible to get it to run again it would be extremely expensive. I did have someone come and have a look into it last year and said its possible, but it would be down to a group of engineers who would have the final say. We are in the process of starting an APT-P restoration group with a website, donations, memberships, etc but we have to do it by the book, so to say. All i can say is watch this space...

Very interesting. I would like to give some of my time to this project
