My tortoise Crusty tries to get through the bars on the dogs cage just like that. they do some stupid things but dont underestimate them they are quite clever sometimes. lol. Check out my videos of Crusty giving a frog a piggyback ride.

It is not cruel.
Lucy is not trapped or stuck, it is clear on the video that she can walk round to the side of the obstacle.
There is no infection, she just sneezed. The tortoise was/is in perfect health.
