While it could be possible to send a signal through the electrical system from the cig-lighter. This thing would have to be able to totaly reprogram your on board computer system. and I really don't think you could do that though a cig-lighter. sources of electrical interferace can be controled by covering your electronics with a metal cover. But I'll bet they already have one...
how can a cig-lighter plug device manage ECU? it doesn't even connected to anything but the battery, after all, it will eventually drain your battery for drawing more energy
There must be a bunch of suckers out there, the display at my local Advance Auto is always empty and the thing is $49! Anyone with even the basic automitve knowledge could figure out that this could NEVER work as advertised.
A car's electrical system is not just some hodgepodge of wires and fuses, least of all the parts controlling ignition timing. Even in older cars, the ignition system is a carefully made and calibrated system. And even when there is trouble in the ignition system, there is nothing you could plug into the cigarette lighter socket to change how it works, as that's a one-way, DC electrical line.
@larryt7001 Who are you calling a liar? They used to tell us that bumblebees can't fly?You probably believe that Obama's birth certificate is real. The Fuel Doctor works for me.
