  • Keith Richards autobiography says that Gram did have a big part on the country music influences on the Stones music, like Wild Horses, Sweet Virginia, etc.

  • From Keith Richard

  • i'd like to think, for a moment..what if Gram joined the Rolling Stones? How great would've that been? If Mick wasnt a simpering ,jealous pansy, The Stones would've been countrified for a at least a good 2-years, before Keith and Gram cancel each other out..lol, just a thought..

  • i had the pleasure of getting to see emmylou harris about 3 years ago in raleigh NC... i was SHOCKED at how great she STILL sounds... amazing talent... maybe the best every female country singer (at least pure voice-wise)

  • Just read Keith Richards biography "Life". He had nothing but great praise for Parsons, wrote songs with him and planned an album with him during some of the thickest days for the Stones. Keith said Parsons was one of the greatest musicians he ever heard and that Parsons absolutely lived for music. To hang out with him was to play music.

  • For some unconscious reason last week I found myself wanting to listen to nothing but GP and Grievous Angel. So I did that for 3 or 4 days. Then I happened to Google Gram to check something and in the process saw that Sat., Nov. 5 was his birthday - he would have been 65. Happy Birthday Gram - hope you're looking down from, as Emmylou sings, " your place among the stars." Thanks for your short time with us and what you gave us. What could have been.....

  • If you ever get near Cleveland, OH on the 2nd Thursday of any month, Brent Kirby leads his all-star Graham Parsons' tribute act NEW SOFT SHOE onto the stage of the Happy Dog at W. 58th St. & Detroit Ave. on the west side...

    not to be missed.....

  • She sounds better with Barry Tashian (of her Hot Band) on this one. But this is where it was invented, all power to them.

  • Lovely !

  • @renger29

    Grammy wins:

    Emmylou - 12
