I was very fortunate to have been at this gig even though i was a very young lad!!..But i remember standing for hours in the pissing rain waiting for my heroes to take the stage!!The Who were awsesome during this period..

I remember it pissing down an then clearing during SAHB set. Daltrey slipped on his arse and commented The Who on ice. Do i remember this correctly cos time is passing.

Absolutely. Nobody was louder than The Who. Ever. Even to this day, the record persists.

Nicked a Swansea Bootleg from a local record store , black/white marble type Vinyl with Pete's mug on it around 30 years ago. Not best audio ever but good fun when you are 15.
I currently have the 74 and 76 Charlton shows on .Mp3 if anyone wants em. Small fee, shipping etc.

this is the show in the Guiness Book of World Records for loudest show - 120 decibels 164 feet from the front of the stage. It was reported that it was still very clear even though it was that loud. The Who were THE real pioneers in live sound (and lighting) from their earliest days.

I was there, it was a great show, oh i wish the BBC had got this one instead of the disjointed 1974 performance, which was still a better show than some bands have on a good day.
