Lifting Weights. Part of my road to optimal health series. Total weights 30 lbs. 1 set of 10 and one set of 10 with squats. Any weight lifting tips will be great!

  • Also start light, 30 lbs is a little bit too heavy, start small and grow because then as you get better you will lift heavier. Or do a pyramid of lifting, 10, 15, 20, 20, 15, 10 lbs and 15 reps or till muscle failure. Next week increase the weight by 5 and so on. This will help you not get bored and always reach for a goal.

  • Thank you so much, I will definitely give it a try. :)

  • That looks like alot more than 30 pounds. The bar probably weighs at least 10 or 15-so if you have 30 pounds on the bar-that's 40-45 pounds that you're lifting.

  • Star, its great that you're back on your journey!! When doing squats with the barbells, put them on your shoulders behind your neck and squat! I would suggest either Cathe Friedrich or Jari Love videos to help you along for strength training. Keep up the excellent work!!
