The Farley Mowat and the Robert Hunter had to scour the Ross Sea to find the Japanese whaling fleet for over six weeks before finally spotting them on 8 February.

Operation Leviathan is a campaign already underway by the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society to physically intervene with Japanese pirate whaling operations in the Southern Ocean. Sea Shepherd is using two ships, the Farley Mowat and the Robert Hunter (previously codenamed "Leviathan"), over 60 international volunteer crewmembers, a helicopter ("Kookaburra"), and fast Zodiac inflatable boats. The whalers murder quota for the winter of early 2007(which is actually summer in Antarctica) altogether consists of up to a thousand Minke, fin and humpback whales.
The Sea Shepherd crews are risking their lives to protect the sentient, extremely intelligent mammals who share the planet with us.

  • No matter who you are or where you come from. such acts as those displayed in this video is just wrong. What make this bunch of pricks(excuse my french) think that they have the right to do those things they do. endangering other peoples lives. All you are is a bunch of troublemakers with too much money on your hands. Use those money better people. That there is just rediculous

  • Personally, I find killing over 500 whales much worse than throwing rancid butter on the deck of a ship. Whalers and whale slaughter apologists are the pricks.

  • Wtf' wrong with this pple

  • You are.

  • Fuck you!, and anyone that condones dolphin slaughter should be slaughtered the same brutal way these dolphins get slaughtered.

  • These guys have been arrested and charged a hundred times. They get off each and every time precisely because their acts are not illegal. They are enforcing INTERNATIONAL LAW. Not one person has ever been hurt by Sea Shepherd's actions.

  • Get your facts right before you try point scoring.

  • @xSxDANxSx The Robert Hunter is now the MY Steve Irwin & still in action with SSCS. The Farley Mowat (shell) that was mored in Sydney Nova Scotia was sold in November 2009 to Green Ship LLC to be used as an Eco Survey Ship.

I sugest you go look at the moorings again because its not there & if it is Green Ship LLC will have mooring fees to pay not SSCS.

  • @flute4hire Sorry Mr. i did not understand that this ship is currently in action and dont call me an idiot. The ship or "shell" IS tied up in my area but is obviously not the same one as in action.

  • @xSxDANxSx no its not idiot, its now an eco patrol ship in Scandinavian waters. See Shepherd took all salvageable/valuable items off it.

I watched the litral auction of the ship, it was in sutch an old ship that it needed extesive work on it that it wasnt viable for a charity to spend the money to get it back up to standard so SS bought a new ship instead.

  • this ship is currently tied up in Sydney, Nova Scotia....and man it does not look like this anymore haha

  • nice film... just go on!!!

    and ceep smailing,

  • I agree. Success lies in diversity.

  • Hard core. You don't even respect other activists? Good luck in life wierdo.

  • Fuck your views, its people like you and the gutless greenpeace pussies who wont do anything about anything that cause groups like this to take action, DIRECT ACTION GETS DIRECT RESULTS!
