This is the second part, where I have managed to fit the electronics from the Spal key inside of an E9X key casing. This key is able to unlock, lock, and close the windows. It can't unlock the trunk or start the car yet, but it is just an ongoing project. Enjoy!

  • LOL not true at all it is all lies.. wast of time and internet space...

  • @radekNoozzz Just a demonstration of the remote portion of the key working. The normal key start the car for now. Look at all the updates. I'm still working on getting the starter working.

  • Hey Xenic , did you ever do the tutorial on this ? my battery on my e39 fob has died and I am wondering if this is a better solution than another $200 key.

  • @omnipotentgoku Is yours the Diamond shaped key? If so replacing your battery would probably be the best solution.

Otherwise, I did post a tutorial on BimmerForums, seems I can't post the link, but I should not their is problems with the Spal AS-80 on the BMW. For example, if you unlock your car with your key, you can't use the remote to lock it unless you click unlock then lock. Their was a few other thing, but I can't remember.

  • @Xeniczone can you do this for me as well ? :)

  • I LOVE BMW.....

  • @nycqnzdice That is one way of doing it, but my goal in the project is to not only replace my broken E39 key, but to bypass BMW altogether. Then I can simply make my own key rather then paying 100 dollars for BMW to do it. I will try to program a "blank" key into the BMW computer. That way the car should start if no key is present, if that doesn't work I would buy a bypass module. Then I can make my own transponder system. I made a post on BimmerForums, I will have to make another on m5board.

  • @Xeniczone I believe you have to put the transporter from the old key into the new one. You should make a post on m5board.com. It would be helpful for allot of people since im not the only one looking to do this.

  • @nycqnzdice I've been documenting everything so I can make a tutorial when I was done. My idea was to build the first key, then use the experience to make the second key documenting it. I do have an idea on how to make it start the car, but I simply ran out of money for this project.

  • Nice Job, I would like to this as well, have you figured out how to get the key to start the car? A tutorial would be great ^_^
