Just watched this again after a 12 or 15 month interval. The excitement and elation I felt at the time have diminished not one bit. That finish .... it's like a conjuring trick. A fraction of an inch before the line the gals are behind. A fraction of an inch beyond it, and still they're behind. I've tried again and again and STILL can't catch the microsecond when they got their boat's prow in front!! (And I'm so concentrated on doing it, I can, thankfully, tune Peter M out completely.)

Give them gratitude. 2 months before the Olympics neither of the twins were even sure that they would make the starting gun much less the podium. To come from where they were to beating the Germans on the finish line in just two months is nothing short of staggering.
