I Compared the new LG IPS236V with my old TN monitor.
(IPS panel became popular with iPhone and iPad)
IPS monitor is technically superior to typical TN monitors in wide viewing angle and color.
Especially vision is one of the biggest differences with TN monitor.
Compared the viewing angle from the side and top.

IPS became popular becuase of whaaaa???? Dude, in-plane-switching tech existed before iPhone wasn't even an idea. It's just until recently that IPS became cheap enough to be produced for the wider audience. I bought my dell 2209WA (eIPS) almost 3 years ago for ~220 euros. That monitor was pretty damn popular back then and still is (and is better than that LG in every aspect unless you need full HD 16:9 resolution, witch, for my work, is not even desirable)
