Pandelis Thalassinos: It's August ~ Αύγουστος είναι !

The melancholic voice of Pandelis Thalassinos takes us on this musical journey to the islands of the Aegean sea. Firstly we are taken to Skiathos with its beautiful sandy beaches and brilliant azure waters. Then we travel on to Symi and the picturesque village of Panormitis. A highlight here is the monastery of Archangel Michael, which was built in the 18th century.
The dancing featured is called "Ballos". It is one of the most widely known dances and is lovely to perform or to watch. Ballos has its origins in the Greek islands, and particularly in the Cyclades.

Αύγουστος είναι και το δεύτερο φεγγάρι
προτού προλάβει ο Σεπτέμβρης να το πάρει
πέντε-έξι στίχοι που αγαπάς και τους θυμάσαι
είσαι κι εσύ που ξαγρυπνάς κι όταν κοιμάσαι.
