Refuting a bad analogy.

A big thanks to DanCityDesperado for providing lots of great information on mutations and proteins.

  • @schrodingersfinch so natural selection creates a more complex organism?? So our DNA was perfect at one point but no we have mutations? So are we evolving or is our DNA becoming more complex? There is a book that also explains the origin of life but u probable hate it. Just because you think u have the answer doesn't make u educated

  • Natural selection is one of the factors, yes. Natural mechanisms can and do create complexity. Take snowflakes for example. They are geometrically quite complex objects, yet they are made of simple molecules of H2O through simple natural mechanisms.

As long as there's been DNA, there's also been mutations. "Perfect DNA" is an absurd concept. Where did you get such a silly idea?

  • Yes, we are evolving, but to answer whether our DNA is becoming more complex I would first need to know how to measure its complexity. It very well could.

Are the claims (regarding the origin of life) in your book testable, falsifiable, or observable in any meaningful way? I've read most of the Bible and I don't hate it. I just don't think it's any better than a number of other religious/mythological texts.

  • I don't have all the answers, but when I seek new ones I don't rely on "divine revelation" passed on since the Bronze Age, but on the same method that gave us all of modern technology and medicine: science.

  • How can the complexity of the eye, ears, and rest of the human body just happen by genetic chance?? A male and femal that mate and produce offspring. Are our genetics evolving or de-evoliving?? Don't believe this science fiction.

  • They don't just happen by chance. The key component of evolution is natural selection, which by definition is non-random. I could send you a nice article called "The Evolution of Complex Organs" but you probably wouldn't even read it.

"A male and femal that mate and produce offspring."

Just google: "evolution of sexual reproduction".

Evolution is the keystone of modern biology. It is an observable and testable fact, far from fiction.

Do humanity a favor and educate yourself.

  • When will people learn that an analogy is not an argument.

  • Good vid, unfortunately its lost on the people who really need to watch it. Another thing like this that gets to me, is when creationists grossly misuse the term "Theory"

  • Ive found out in the last two weeks after being here for three years that John Maynard Smith, Urey Miller and now Adrian Thompson are all from my university.

    Good stuff

  • As artist Marcel Duchamp stated: "God is Man's stupidest idea". RIGHT ON!

  • hi, great video, very explicative, but please, stop abusing of Mozart!!
