  • is fred wesley part of the band at this time ike.

  • @PASTORKable

No. This is '66. Fred didn't join until '68.

  • BROTHER IKE HOW YA BEEN DOIN? AINT HEARD NUTHIN LATELY BUT YOU BROKE FUNKY ON THIS. HOW BOUT PRISONER OF LOVE? SPOTTED IT ON ANOTHER CHANNEL BUT YOU WOULD HAVE IT MUCH SHARPER . ALSO SPOTTED YOU ON THAT CHANNEL

  • @tonyjrify

If you mean the performance from Olympia 1967, unfortunately I don't have it any sharper than Cloneshadow, 'cos we got the same substandard bootleg dvd. If you mean the performance from the Ed Sullivan Show 1966, I'll put up a sharp version sometime soon!

  • @IkeDyson71 mr. dyson i dont know you personally but i consider you a brother and a friend! man you kept me going a whole lotta times when things got a little crazy! you are living proof that god is real because you are a god send! may the mighty god of heaven and earth bless you tremendously!

  • @tonyjrify

That's right, and I even know how to do the mashed potatoes!

    May He bless you, too!

  • Just looked in the dictionary for the word CHANK and there was a picture of Jimmy Nolen . .Best band in the land.

  • GREAT stuff!! only live version that comes close to sounding like the original recording. this is probably the only version on film with the Famous Flames onstage with JB. Maceo's solo is pure funk and JB groovin on the side while Maceo plays is classic.this performance shows what was to come for JB's funk creative peak in the late 60s and early 70s with classics as "Mother Popcorn", "Give it Up", "Super Bad", "Sex Machine" etc.

  • This is unbelievable! Gotta be 1967...no Cold Sweat in 1966. Recorded 1967, early. Anuthamutha...ow!

  • Brother Ike,that was just too funky! Both songs had a solid pocket and heavy on the ONE for sure. Bernard is just in his own world with that bottom. Most bass player now would die to get a deep bass bottom like that. I saw this show as a 12 year old back in Columbus,GA and I tell you those Go Go dancers were working my hormones!

  • SUPER!!!

  • thank ike you are the man. i was into this one until late at night good hearing from you.

  • Absolutely LOVE It My Brother , Please Keep them Coming !

Miss Brother James Brown. Bless You for making THIS available for ALL the World over to Enjoy .
