Gibbs always has time for Abbey <3

Abbs and Gibbs are like Daughter and Father... the Team IS their family!

Its scenes like this that sets NCIS so far apart and so different from all the other crime drama shows. NCIS doesn't just rely on crime scenes. Its about how a team has grown together and watch eachothers backs like family. NCIS has proven to be an awesome show without gunfights, and fancy special effects. It all revolves around Gibbs losing his wife and daughter, and that he plays the father figure of the team. This scene shows that from Gibbs.

I'm thinking they couldn't tell her because they were afraid it would hurt her. They didn't know how. Any loving parents, like Abby's, wouldn't want her to feel conflicted about her identity. (Especially if she was given up for adoption) But we know Abby will pull through this one. As Gibbs said, "Abbs, you're still the same person...you don't have to do this alone." The NCIS family will be with her. :) Scenes like this make the show so great.

This is one of the most touching scenes in television history.

Abby asks how they couldn't tell her she was adopted. Simple answer, she was their little girl whether by blood or by legal she will always be their baby. My husband was widowed & left with 2 boys to raise. The boys consider me mom. Bio mom is mommy & I'm mom. I can tell you I fell for the eldet when while sitting in a rocking chair he crawled into my lap & told me about his gi joes before putting his head on my shoulder & falling asleep. I may not of given birth to them but they will be my boys

I love this scene, one of my favorites from this season -- we've gotten a lot of great father/daughter moments with Gibbs with both Abby and Ziva (really loved the latest with her and Gibbs although I hate it she was hurt) this season and I hope they keep coming!

i know how abby feels and i was adopted and this scene makes me now, more than ever want 2 find my real parents and half sister (who thinks i'm dead)
When I watch scenes like this, I forget for a few minutes that the characters in NCIS aren't real.

As an adoptee, I know that Pauley through her character will treat this with grace and compassion.. I pray so.. it's something that is quite personal and touching.. family is family, blood means nothing. I sense a big change in characters..and almost a sense of dread over Gibbs.. not just worry for Abby (and I wonder if he knew all along) -- but what if Abby finds another connection..is Gibbs beginning to fall in the background to the 'team' to his family.. its all good, but sad too.
