Sonia Matias, cavaleira, doing an excellent job with the bull during the bloodless Portuguese bullfight in Thornton, CA, 18 Oct 2008. You can really see her the agility of horse. It's no wonder the Lusitano stallion is at the top of the horse world, above the Lippizaner stallions for training and agility.

  • Why would anybody do this? First of all, it is most obvioously cruel to the bull then it puts the horse in danger and then the person could easily get killed by hte bull or if the horse does something it is not supposed to do. Why would anybody clap for that jerk? If it has any respect for the animals then he would be protesting aginst this! This lame excuse for a "sport" should be banned internationaly!!!! This stuff pisses me off.....

  • @animalLuverify Are you wanting an answer? First off, it's not considered a "sport." Sports have a winner & loser. There's neither here. The bull almost always dies (in the ring or after exiting, a bull can only enter an arena once). He's livestock & was purchased to be beef. (a vegan paradise would be nice, but we're not there yet) The bull's life can also be spared, but he doesn't "win" by hurting the matador. Your comment has other wrong assumptions but I'm not sure you're really curious....

  • @animalLuverify p.s. You can still not like toreo in the end -- I don't like a lot of it -- but I went to Spain to investigate on my own because I had the same question and was genuinely curious. Let me know if you really are asking because you want to really know, or whether you've already made up your mind. Thanks!

  • @mayalibre No, i dont' want an answer. I know its not considered a sport (at least in my mind). I know that the bull pertty much dies in the ring or somewhere else. I think its a stupid thing to do and should be banned. I wouldn't come on here and make up assumptions about this without doing research first. Good for you going ot spain to investigate. I would love to go and protest and investigate. My spanish teacher went to a bullfight once and she said it was terrible.
