My grandest apologies, I had been replying to a question at the bottem of the screen (or so I'm assuming due to Jaws). I learned braille when I went blind, I was twelve (now fifteen); it's hard getting used to.
Thanks for responding.

I have some shape recognition and sometimes color recognition, depending on the lighting conditions. I rely on contrast for helping with travel, in addition to my cane!

What things are you currently using? I would suggest that you talk to some other Braille users and readers, perhaps in one of the more "formal" groups, like the National Federation of the Blind or the American Council of the Blind. Since I have always been a Braille reader and never a print reader AND am only in the 5th grade, it is more difficult for me to give you good answers! Either of those groups would have people who have that experience! Just make sure that you find positive people!
Hi chase! I love listening to your video, how big is the brailleplus? is it huge or does it fit in a bag? and can you buy them in england?

The BraillePlus will fit into your pocket, but the pocket will need to be a front pants type pocket. It will easily fit into a bag. I have found GPS cases (the larger sized units) that will house the unit, too.
The battery, like many devices requires a specialized battery.

Reading braille is not what most would refer to as particularly easy, but it is indeed less complicated if you were raised on it. I was raised on print personally, far harder to learn when you concentrate mainly on print letters in your mind; conversions are more difficult.

I would not know about concentrating mainly on print letters, as that was not an option for me.
I would agree that if you were raised using Braille, and you learned it when you were young, it would be the "less complicated". Thanks for your comments!
