@Gloriapower - You might be thinking of "The People's Choice" with Jackie Cooper. His character had a basset hound named Cleo, who shared her thoughts with the audience but nobody else.

@brothergaryii - Are you thinking of Bill Gannon (Dragnet) and Colonel Potter (M*A*S*H)? This is my earliest memory of Harry Morgan (RIP), and I forgot how laugh-out-loud funny he could be.

I've always loved this show. I'm sure it will never be on TV Land. That channel is just dead air. It's hard to believe such awful shows ever existed.
