From the 17th of Tammuz until the 9th of Av God fearing Jews say the Tikkun Hatsot (Psalm 137, 79, last chapter of Lamentations) both after midninght and an after 12 noon. We do not make weddings but are permitted to make shidduchim (engagements), even with a festive meal, up until Rosh Chodesh Av. After Rosh Chodesh Av we may still make engagements, without a full fledged seuda, but with a limeited, tasty meal. For instance, you could make all kinds of deicacies, but without bread, wine, or meat. Jewish Musicians are permitted to play music for pay before their Non-Jewish clients up until Rosh Chodesh Av.

Rav Edwards plays his guitar up to Rosh Chodesh Av, but only music which praises the One and Only, the Holy One, blessed be He.
