  • I am his student very happy to get this song. his varalandu, amba paradevathe are marvellous.bhagya

  • Devotion to the God

  • GOT IT. Great explanation. Many thanks.

  • Listen to Mahalia Jackson sing 'Amazing Grace' and then to Whitney Houston singing the same song. Plenty of energy in Whitney's version, bhava in Mahalia's.

  • I'm new to Carnatic music. What is 'bhava'?

    Thank you.

  • I hope there is no pun here ;-)

  • The wonderful thing is that Dr. Ramanathan really knows how to draw out the bhava of this now rather obscure kriti. It's also unusual in that in some of his other recordings, he seems to like singing in shorter phrases, but here, he's often seen drawing out the phrases.

  • kamas composition is hardly heard these days.pranams to the great master

  • great clip... Yeah that is Sowmya in green dress... See how she grown leaps and bounds from there...

  • I learnt music from Dr. SR in 1988 for a few months before he passed away. It was an amazing experience. This man was simply great.
