  • It's weird you get less than 60fps on any of the systems.

I have an old AMD 3500+ (2.2ghz, stock) with 1.5gb (DDR1) ram, and 6800gt (stock) and I get 60fps non-stop on this game at 1280x720 on the highest settings but with no anti-liasing (this game has almost no jaggies at all).

I set the FPS to "Fixed".

  • Both were run with AA turned on.

  • SCORE: 9835

    AVERAGE: 58.64FPS

OS: Microsoft(R) Windows Vista(TM) Home Premium

    CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU P7550 @ 2.26GHz

    Memory: 4062MB

Graphics Card: ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4650

    Video Memory: 1024MB

    Display Setting: 1280x720 60Hz

I got an A on the Benchmark test with my GPU overclocked @ 740/702. I'm on an HP Pavilion dv7-2170us. Regarding the overclock speed with GPUTool on this laptop, how safe is it to play on this speed?

  • It depends on your ambient temps and if you are using a notebook cooler or not.

  • @5150Joker hey, i have MSI GX623, exactly the same hd4670 with 512mb and core2duo P7350 @2ghz (stock). but mine runs better, i got average 55fps. tested with same setting as yours

Thanks for the reply. Yeah i would be willing to change the stock psu for something more powerful, then get a good card for my PCI Express x16 slot but im not sure what to look for in a new psu and if my mother board would take the new psu. I got a Compaq Presario 2019UK 3500+ 2.2 ghz 2 gig ram windows xp. I wanted to run Crysis. I was told its better to build a new pc. Not many games i wanna play on pc though except crysis at the moment.

  • @MetalMatt2510

I had a 300w PSU (I have another computer now) which was the one that came with the PC and it was a generic brand, if you´re not willing to change the psu then I can´t recommend anything higher than a 6800gt which you can find cheap on ebay...otherwise, if you have a OEM PC (which I suppose you do) and you have the space for a bigger psu then do that and get a better card.

  • @MoonOvIce

I have that AMD 3500+ 2.2 ghz. What 3d card do you have and psu? I want a card for my computer but dont know what to get, i think my psu is 300 watts though.

Nice, but I wish you had taken AA off so we could see what the FPS was like without it. I'd imagine at least 60.

Also, you should switch your frame rate from variable to fixed.

  • I own the 2043cl and lemme tell ya, it is still a beast... I can run cod4,5, and 6 all at maxed out settings with no lag at all. I don't have the same problem with the color that he has on his screen, the colors are beautiful on it.

  • Hey just got my xps 2 days ago.its fantastic.especially with crisis

  • Would the result been better for the HP if it had a faster processor???

  • i have the same only i have the i7 and i want to buy that intel ssd 160... why i don't know i only chat and use word :D

  • no, the dell homepage says it's in progress ... But an email told be that I may have to wait until february -.-"
