Japan is releasing the activists who boarded the Maru, or the Japanese whaling ship. There is much more to this than the public know, and it is not just an act of kindness. Japan has a legal conflict of interest with Australia at the moment about our international territories at the UN. Japan doesn't want to hinder their case.

  • @PerennialPeace TY TY

  • All I can say is if the Navy catchers them take the ship and toss the japs in jail like we do with all the other fishermen

  • @littlegalah This is in contention in the UN court case. If the UN confirms this territory, Australia could do it.

  • I agree with you that there is more than meets the eye to this ongoing saga. But I have to disagree with you regarding the Japanese being scared of being sued. Quite the contrary, Australia has a constitutional dilemma at the moment, it's the reason your PM wants a referendum to recognize the aboriginals, to legitimize your constitution and sovereignty over lands and waters, if the aboriginals agree to it of course. The ICC cannot find in favor of Australia on this basis and Japan knows it.

  • No no no you guys have it all wrong. They found all the gallons of whale sperm the whalers drink.....thats the secret that Japan wants to keep secret

  • when in Oz, you tend to abide by the rules of Oz, when outside Oz maybe international rules have a place

so in all this where does New Zealand fit in, whats their ownership of the coast and water around their islands..?
