Ready? Ready was what Joe asked. Ready ... was she ready? When he opened that do Renee would, more than likely, meet his family. His family ... what would they think of her? She knew that they were nice people but how nice can you get when you're standing in the same room with the person who tried to kill your brother or son?

"I-I..." she looked into Joe's eyes and knew. Renee knew that no matter what it was, with Joe, she would be ready. As long as she had him. If only ... if only she would always have him but she wouldn't. Renee just knew.
She nodded, "I'm ready."

Joe smiled comfortingly and took her hand. "Alright, come on." He said. Renee took a breath as she watched Joe turn the nob. He slowly opened the door and walked in. Renee followed him without hesitation. He closed the door behind her back. Squeezing her hand, Joe led her farther into the room. Renee wasn't sure what to expect. She was almost frightened. Almost. She let out the breath she was holding and followed the boy. She held tight to his hand as she took in the scene before her. They had walked into a living room. The same living room that she was pointing her M82 at, only hours ago. A man and woman were sitting on a couch, watching their eldest son and a girl battle it out on a video game. The TV was turned up loud, trying to tune out the sound of the two boys wrestling on the floor. Their youngest, Frankie, she had learned his name when studying the Jonass, was screaming and laughing from the excitment of playing with his older brother. She followed the noice with her eyes and landed her gaze on him. There he was. Rolling around on the floor, laughing with his little brother. Suddenly, Renee felt a wave of nausea over her and she leaned onto Joe's arm.

"Are you alright?" He asked, clearly concerened.

She could only nod. Afraid that if she did, she would throw up, Renee didn't dare open her mouth.

"Renee, listen to me." Joe put his hand on her chin and made her look at him. She tore her eyes off of him and looked into Joe's eyes. "Everything will be alright. Trust me."

Trust him? Could she? She already did. Renee almost smiled, "I trust you."
Joe nodded and smiled, "good." He turned back around and walked completely into the room, drawing the attenchion of his parents.

"Oh!" His mom, Denise, said, "Joseph! And .. who's this?"

Joe put his arm around her waist, "this is Renee. I met her on the ... elevator." Renee forced herself to smile. What was she thinking? They wouldn't know! Joe wouldn't tell them! Why would he? Kevin put his game on pause and the two youngest stopped their game and stood up.

"Hello, honey, nice to meet you." Denise said, smilling. She stood up from the couch. "Joseph, I would like to talk to you. In the kitchen, now. Please."

"I'll be right back," Joe whispered in Renee's ear and, then, he was gone. Renee couldn't believe he just LEFT her. He .. wasn't suposed to! She suddenly felt sick again. He walked closer to her. Her breathing quickened. This has never happened before! Well, she had never failed before.

He put out his hand, "Nick."

She tried to look every where but his eyes. But she couldn't. She was too curious. So, she looked. Then, Renee puked.
