Expedition crossing the Greenland icecap south to north in 2010. 1812 km sailed in 17 days unsupported. The use of efficient foilkites from Flysurfer made this possible. The icecap contains approximately 8% of the fresh water on our planet! 2,7 mill km3 is the total volume. Maximum thickness of the ice is above 3 km. In 2010 the melting rate of the ice was the highest ever registered in our time. With this rate the ice will be melted in 1100 years and the sea level will rise. We encountered problems in the north due to very early melting of the fjord ice. www.x-greenland.com.

  • Herlig! Men skal si at det er blitt en litt mindre bragd å krysse Grønnlandsisen med årene ;)
