Mike demonstrates how to create seamless tileable textures using just Adobe Photoshop. In episode #40, Mike used a Photoshop plugin called imageSynth to create similar textures of organic materials. In this episode, Mike explains how it's probably better to use Photoshop alone when it comes to more rigid textures, such as wood and tile.

You don't need to create a new file in Photoshop just to flip something. When you have the selection just simply right click and Free Transform. Then right click again and you can flip, rotate, or what ever you want.

Hmm I use the offset and clone stamp too mostly.
You have to offset it twice at least though because the very edge pixels of the first offset dont match.
