@Audrey930604 I watched the video. It was in Japanese. The hyper speed lady actually holds 10th dan in soroban (abacus) and anzan (don't know the English term for it, but it's calculating everything without using any device). Just FYI.

@fmagalhaes1521 A soroban seems to be the easiest. Four beads on the bottom are the Earth beads, valued at one. The single top bead is the Heavenly bead, valued at five. The beads are only counted when they reach the dividing bar that separates the Earth and Heavenly beads. Once you have 4 Earth beads counted and you add 1 to the equation, you slide the Earth beads back and move up the Heavenly bead. The soroban is then read from left to right, biggest to smallest.

Yeah... this guy is kinda slow (but not that bad) at the calculator, but looking at the way the little girl's going at it anyways, unless you get an uber fast calculator typer, she'd probably end up beating you (at least I know she'd end up beating me, and I'm not all that slow). Plus, being really faster on the calculator brings up a higher chance for error.

You dont see every high schoool student adding up 10 numbers.. can an abacus find the square root of a number with the push of a button?.. i dont think so.... btw that is the slowest ive ever seen anyone use a calculator, and the fastest ive seen someone handle an invisible abacus..?

While Samantha's performance is amazing, Josh is quite slow on a calculator. Not fair to put a genius against someone who has trouble using his instrument.
