Maude Barlow, National Chairperson of the Council of Canadians, along with First Nations and labour leaders cross the police barricade during the "Say 'No!' to the Tar Sands" protest held on Parliament Hill September 26. Many were arrested that day in a large demonstration of civil disobedience to show cross-Canada opposition to the environmentally destructive tar sands.   • The Harper government needs to meet with the First Nations, Council of Canadians and everyone else who will be affected by the Tar Sands project, and then study the impact the sands will have on the health of the communities.

    I commend all of the protestors who took a stand.
