I took a trip to Las Vegas for the IAWTV Awards. This is a video about that. Not about the IAWTV Awards specifically because I was an idiot and didn't bring my camera with me to the awards at all. Rather, this is a video about Airports, flying, turbulence, books by John Green, and Gambling at Lord of the Rings Slot Machines. Enjoy

  • Our flights have always taken cash.. but I suppose they do it so they don't have to give change and worry about keeping the money.

Also.. fail Star Trek pinball machine.. TNG theme with TOS pictures.

  • @duplicatehelix The TOS machine wasn't the one playing music actually, sitting directly beside it was a TNG machine that played the music.

You passed the nerd quiz though!

  • My guess on the credit cards: saves time. Remember, in the old days, everything but booze was free on the flight. Now, most airlines are selling all kinds of food snacks. There are many more transactions. Making change would just slow down the service. We're probably at a point where a huge proportion of flying folks have credit cards. (Feel bad for kids flying alone, who probably don't.)

  • @mickeleh actually, I fly AirTran usually and everything aside from booze still is free, which is why it's confusing to me. It would make sense if they had to run like 40 transactions every flight, but it's only a few...

  • There seems to be something about your new videos that's different, it seems to be either better, deeper contrast, or richer colors. What is it?

  • @CoobzWorld it is all of those things, plus a little bit better depth of feild. I got a new camera, so everything is better.

  • I hate turbulence. I have dealt with it a lot, especially here in Indonesia where sometimes I have landed in conditions in which I'm not sure planes would fly outside of Indonesia, but I'm still not used to it. I am the clutch-the-armrest-and-focus-on-my-breathing during rollercoaster-like turbulence. (I don't like rollercoasters either, btdubs.) Glad you didn't miss any of your flights and got there/home safely. Hope volunteering was fun.

  • The airline credit card thing? It might be for an easier purchasing trail to track. Maybe it's a flight policy or security issue. Or maybe it's just easier to swipe cards than handle cash. No cash on board to handle change, then less motive to be robbed.

  • you're less weird these days... it's weird.

  • Glad travel went well, overall! I remember the Portland situation. Also, AMBEEEEER! I feel so behind and out of the loop with y'all! <3

  • just recently subscribed to you. love the videos keep them coming.

  • @Komighty1 He used to be a unicorn.

  • What camera did you use to record out in the airport? Nice video quality and stuff...

  • @Komighty1 He made a video about that a while ago, search for it and you'll find it.

  • Wish I could've come up to Vegas. Darn work.

Elayna and I are thinking about volunteering for VidCon this year, so keep us in mind if you're looking for people.
