This ancient VCR has been collecting dust... until now. I just hooked it up and it works despite being stored in a closet for more than 10 years. It's being used with Sandisk V-Mate to digitize old U-Matic films my uncle had.

Note the flawless hold frame (pause) performance!

U-Matic was the first ever home VCR system, launched in the late 1960s.

  • how long did it take u to set up all the cables behind it?

  • @greannysmith It doesn't any longer than with any video recorder. Connect sound and video and you're done! The video connector is BNC though, so you'll need a BNC-to-RCA adapter if you wish to use with regular TVs rather than professional monitors.

  • @epatto how much would you sell summin like that? (the U-matic not the cables :P )

  • @greannysmith I don't own the U-Matic in this video (my employer does). But really I don't know what these are worth. Check eBay to estimate the price.

  • @epatto ty 4 the answers :)

  • If it's Sony professional video equipment, ten years in a closet is nothing. OF COURSE it still works!
