This is part 4 of my build. As those of you who have been following my build will know, because I decided to built my chassis myself bigger than normal, it also ment that I have had to hand craft all the body work too. Believe it or not Aluminium is a great material to work with and bends and shapes easier than you would imagine. The lesson I learnt was simple...just take your time and don't rush it. so with the main bulk of the body work done, I have also added the windscreen wiper system froman original mini which turned out to be the right size, the washer bottle it tucked away and mostly finished too. The heater box was a real head ache.. Its mad from a Range Rover unit, which is a lot bigger abd wider than the space available, however with the blower and the heater matrix liberated, its not too difficult to wrap a box around it. This is an important point to remember. If you intend to fit a wind screen, then you must not only fit a wiper system but also washer bottle, water jets AND a heater capable of demisting.
With that lot done the dash was finished (almost) and the exhast polished and fitted. I decided to start to look at the engine and its cooling system. I'm opting for a header tank (not expansion tank) and basically picked up a load of cooling hoses from my local breaker and with a bit from here and there have completed the system. Also added to the bulkhead is the brake reservoir (dual circuit) and the Oil breather catch tank. Hope you enjoy the latest upload :)

  • Hello :) I was looking at the pedal box , and wondering if it's is set up for fly by wire or cable . If it's FBW , where did you find it ? The car looks great , hope to see more soon , thanks again.........

  • @cpitarre Hello :) the pedal box will be cable. the trottle positional sensor is mounted on the main throttle body. As for the pedal box itself, this is a home made unit that I basically made from off cuts, painted in black speckle (body) and Gold (pedals) and then I when to the car shop and got myself some rather nice Aluminium pedal plate covers :)

  • @cpitarre Hello... :)...I hope so...I'm already a little behind..lol Glad you like the pedal box, all I bought was the Aluminium pedal fronts..the rest was built using scrap from my chassis build and some paint I had in my garage :) The heater did turn out ok too and blows very evenly. I cant wait to start viewing your build, and I'm totally flattered that mine inspired your build..any help I can be..just ask :)
