The Don Ellis Orchestra, Electric Bath, "Indian Lady" Recorded September 19, 1967 at Columbia Recording Studios, Hollywood, CA originally released 1967
I 1st heard his Music in 1967. Later I bought all his LPs and I saw Don Ellis and his Orchestra twice, at the Monterey Jazz Festival 1968 ( featuring a long tape loop 4 valve Trumpet solo) and in April 1969 at the Stage Band Festival at Reno, Nevada, Don did a Trumpet Clinic. I got to compliment him and he thanked me for it.
A very humble and very enthusiastic MUSICIAN. Great Memories Thanks for putting this up !!!!
1967? Ellis sounds hip and cool today..."Electric Bath" is one stellar album...Played the crap out ot it on the FM'er I worked at in the San Fernando Valley back in the late 60's...When I put it on the turntable the first time it knocked my earlobes off...Top players plus Mr. Ellis and his creative talent blend into one album you can NEVER forget...Wish he was still with us on the planet...
I was turned on to Don Ellis by my highschool musical director. Our jazz band did this song in competition and won 3 1st places. Your genius will never be forgotten Don
As a 19 year old boy from Detroit visiting San Francisco in the Spring of 1973, I had the supreme pleasure of attending a Don Ellis concert at the Great American Music Hall. These are the moments in your life, you treasure a lifetime. Everyone in attendance was simply blown away, literally! Don, you left us too early, but we will always have the magic of your artistry ! If you were there that night, Say "Hello ! " or if you have your own Don Ellis memories.. please share!

2:36 - After much (and yet very little) consideration, OFFICIALLY the best organ solo I've ever heard. Ever.

This is simply brilliant! Vibrant, electrifying, complex, yet enjoyable. One can easily get lost in this music!
