OK, it's Jools Holland and HIS rhythm and blues band feat. Bono, not the other way around and definitely not U2, the music is all Jools and the legendary musicians who flock to him for the opportunity to play with a genius INCLUDING Bono. Bono is a great singer, but this song is pure magic for every other reason but him.

@bizarrefruit I wrote "U2 ft Jools Holland" because it's a U2 song (written by Bono and the Edge), 'remixed' by Jools Holland and his band, and I personally believe that for every song the original artist deserves much credit. Especially when Bono sings so passionate.

But you're of course right about the fact that Jools and his band took this to another level, I give you that ;-)

@bizarrefruit The original album version is far superior, imo, & nobody does it for me better than Bono & Co. And Bono isn't exactly responsible for composition on U2's songs, that's Edge, Adam, and Larry's job. So comparing Jools and his band to Bono is kinda like comparing apples and oranges. Bono does the vocalizing, which he his fuckin brilliant at doing. He fits right into the mood.

Btw what is with all this "Bono saving the world, worship me" shit going around? That's just silly. XD

No, so no, he didn't write this. It's called composition and you can guarantee that Jools Holland along with EVERY one of his musicians are better at it TENFOLD than Bono.

You can argue with me, but I'm right. This version is 1000x more musically remarkable than the original and only 1% of that is thanks to "Mr-I-saved-the-world-so-worsh­ip-me".

@bizarrefruit not so - it takes the right singer to bring out the right sone along with the right backing..... the accompaniment is perfect for this song, giving it the true resonance that "POP" could only allude to [and still deliver well]. Great version - great delivery [by all] x
